The Mobile Foundation for Health, Security, and Rehabilitation (MHSR) is a youth-led nonprofit advancing health, human rights, dignity, rehabilitation, and social justice for vulnerable and marginalized communities in their diversities.
Since 2014, MHSR has combined community-based healthcare, peer leadership, advocacy, capacity building, research, social support, innovation, and strategic partnerships to improve access to essential services and create safer, healthier, and more inclusive communities.
Mobile Foundation for Health Security and Rehabilitation (MHSR) implements integrated, community-driven interventions that promote health, wellbeing, dignity, and human rights. Our work focuses on reducing barriers to essential services and reaching vulnerable, underserved, and marginalized populations through community outreach, health education, referrals, advocacy, and strategic partnerships.
MHSR supports communities with accessible HIV prevention and care services, including HIV education, testing, prevention interventions, linkage to treatment, adherence support, and referrals. We work to improve early access to services while addressing stigma and other barriers that affect continuity of care.
We promote informed and voluntary access to sexual and reproductive health services for adolescents, young people, women, and other underserved populations. Our work includes SRH education, STI prevention and screening, contraception information, and referrals to appropriate care and support services.
MHSR promotes mental wellbeing by integrating psychosocial support into community-based programming. We provide awareness, counselling and supportive interventions, while connecting individuals experiencing emotional or psychological distress with appropriate professional and community resources.
Our harm reduction interventions focus on reducing the health and social consequences associated with substance use. MHSR provides prevention education, risk-reduction information, HIV and STI services, counselling, referrals, and community support for people who use drugs and other affected populations.
MHSR works with communities to prevent gender-based violence and strengthen access to survivor-centered support. Our interventions include awareness and prevention activities, identification and referral, psychosocial support, safeguarding, and linkages to legal, health, and protection services.
MHSR promotes the health and wellbeing of children through community-based health education, prevention, early identification of health concerns, referrals, and support for caregivers. We work with partners and communities to strengthen access to appropriate and child-friendly healthcare services.
MHSR advances dignity, equali
ty, and access to justice for vulnerable and marginalized populations. Our work includes human rights education, legal and paralegal support, referrals, advocacy, documentation of rights violations, and engagement with communities and relevant institutions to promote accountability and protection.
MHSR recognizes the connection between environmental conditions, climate change, and community health. We promote climate-health awareness, environmental sustainability, community resilience, and actions that help vulnerable populations understand and respond to emerging health and environmental risks.
MHSR works to make essential healthcare information, services, and referrals more accessible to underserved communities. Through community outreach, health promotion, screening, navigation, and linkages to care, we help individuals overcome barriers and connect with appropriate health services.
