Green Housing and KPCARE1 interventions

Implemented by: Mobile Foundation for Health Security and Rehabilitation (MHSR)

In partnership with: Heartland Alliance & USAID

Awarded: 2019

 Period: 2019–2025

Impact & Achievements:

Through KPCARE1, MHSR delivered integrated HIV testing and linkage to care, STI services, GBV case finding, advocacy and sensitization, capacity building, legal and human rights support, and psychosocial/MHPSS services to diverse and marginalized communities.

Using innovative testing approaches, including Index Client Testing (ICT), MHSR reached over 10,000 people through community and social media interventions, conducted HIV testing, and identified and linked over 1,000 newly diagnosed cases to appropriate HIV care and treatment. The project strengthened access to STI treatment, GBV response, human rights and legal support, and psychosocial services, while building community capacity to promote health, dignity, and access to essential services.

KPCARE1 demonstrated MHSR’s ability to deliver comprehensive, community-led and rights-based interventions at scale, connecting vulnerable and underserved populations to timely health, protection, and support services.
